I am glad that the firm I work at values personal time off and so I have been spending my vacation days wide awake at night and asleep in the morning. I know I will regret this by the time I come back to the office and feel restless even with two weeks of rest.
Last week, Lyan and I went to Ikea to look around which furniture would work best at our new apartment. We haven’t committed to anything at this point – some furniture pieces that come with the space are so difficult to place – and still discuss a lot of potentials. Although we committed to several lamps – two identical standing lamps and two colorful table lamps.
It was the same day I realized my car had an oil leak episode. Only to remember I saw the stains Tuesday night when Ly and I drove to our old apartment to pick up his bicycle and few more things. It was also the same night when I came home from Eastwood – where I realized that drop from the steep Citywalk parking structure could be the culprit.
Sunday, I sent a chat to a distant relative who owns a very successful car shop at Banawe, QC that I need the car checked. So Monday I drove to their shop and tadaaaaa, when I came home for Christmas, there was no visible drop of oil anymore! I can’t remember how much I was initially quoted but I got a discount, so yay. The pain in my ass now would be the oil stain on my parking spot.
On Monday, Ly and I also went out for a dinner snack and watched Avatar which I didn’t know was three hours long. It was pretty entertaining but.. it was long.
The next day, I went to SM Aura to hunt for more stationery items. I went up to Scribe and later realized I was duped with the sticker pack I bought as it was missing a sheet! (I sent them a chat on Instagram but I haven’t received a response.) I also went to Landmark Makati for a grocery run – I think I spent two hours going around! It was all worth it I bought food stocks for our apartment and food to cook for Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, Ly and I drove to E. Rod to pick up the lasagna that Mama ordered. We got home and I sent two of my friends a chat to check where they were so I could deliver gifts to their kids. Nikki was home so I went. I was also tasked to buy Mayonnaise from bayan, so I did. And so much more lol. Karen went to see me too as they came from Makati.
We went back to Makati the next day, evening of Christmas.
Friday night we went to S Maison to watch Shake, Rattle, and Roll. Now I get it.. it’s to shake you from fear, rattle you from the violence, and roll your eyes because the storyline was the bomb. As in, it will blow up to your face. It was boring as hell at the last part of the story.
And yesterday night, we went to Tagaytay! It was not as spontaneous but glad Lyan was up for it. It was tiring but we didn’t do anything the whole day anyway so we were rested.
Oh by the waaaaay, I got my Hobonichi Techno Orginal! Lookie.. and so I have been spending my precious time watching stationery videos on which to things to buy. Like I didn’t know I need a pencil board until now?

Anyway, that is all, toodles!
